Covering roughly 112 square miles of verdant cliffs and canyons in Mpumalanga province, the park contains some of the most dramatic portions of the Drakensberg escarpment , including the gargantuan rounded mountaintops called the Three Rondavels . Deep within the canyon, on the park’s western edge, is a labyrinth of whirlpools and river-carved cylindrical basins known as Bourke’s Luck Potholes .
